A rescue centre is situated close to l’Oumière sports centre.  The Saint-Pierre d’Oléron rescue centre consists of 36 firefighters and a watch is maintained during the day year-round. 

A medical centre is open in the evenings from 21:00 to midnight, Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays.  Minor surgery can be undertaken.  
A radiography centre can be found at Saint-Trojan les Bains, 25 minutes from l’Oumière and a new centre will open at Saint-Pierre D’Oléron during 2021.
